A puzzle , MCS newsletter , and music too!
It just might be something to keep you busy for awhile
Good morning Norwich readers
I would like to share the puzzle from the NHS and the newsletter from the Marion Cross school. I also am sending along the video links to Chad Finers music series. I missed a week or two and I sure heard about it from my readers. It seems my readers are enjoying these and miss them also. Enjoy your day.

Here's your Sunday jigsaw: https://jigex.com/cRaGV
Mr. Ruggle's Hartland woodpile.
It was taken on the first day of *May* in 1906, which gives a little
perspective on our mid-April snowfalls.

Message From The Principal
Dear Families,
As we head into spring break, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and support throughout the school year. This season offers a wonderful opportunity for our students, staff, and families to relax, recharge, and enjoy time together.
Each day, I am reminded how fortunate I am to serve as the principal of MCS. Being part of this incredible community—filled with dedicated educators, curious learners, and supportive families—is truly a privilege.
Whether you're traveling, staying local, or simply taking it easy, I hope your spring break is filled with joy, rest, and meaningful moments. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the final stretch of the school year!
Wishing you a safe and wonderful spring break!
Shawn
Student Services Update
I typically use April Break as a chance to rest and prepare for the busiest part of the year. From 6th grade graduation to Field Day to Mayfest, to Step-up Day, to all the rest of the end of the year traditions, May is super busy.
We are also planning for Kindergarten (May 16) and Pre-K (May 28) Orientations. In order to come to Kindergarten Orientation, you must register.
Kindergarten Registration is Open!
If you are a Norwich, VT resident and have a child who will be five by September 30th, 2025, it's time to register them for Kindergarten at Marion Cross School!
If you are new to our district, please do the following two steps:
Visit the enrollment page on our website
Complete the 2025-26 enrollment form.
**Please note, if you are in our Pre-K or have enrolled in our district to receive Act 166 funds (Universal Pre-K), you do not need to enroll again.
All students in our Pre-K, registered with our district for Act 166 funds, and newly enrolled folks, will receive details about our Kindergarten Orientation that will occur on May 16th. On this day, the students will have an opportunity to meet our dedicated staff, explore our facilities, and families will learn more about our wonderful Kindergarten program!
Questions or Need Assistance?
Feel free to contact our friendly Front Office staff at (802-649-1703) for any questions or help with the registration process.
We look forward to welcoming your child and meeting you soon!
Sincerely,
Greg Bagnato
School News and Information
Don’t Forget About REP!
Hi all, there will be several all-school and 3rd-6th Rep performances after the April break, so don’t forget to plan ahead and see Mr. Ramsey for those things you might like to share! In particular, I would love to see students make use of our piano!
As temperatures change throughout the day, many coats and sweatshirts have been forgotten! Here are some pictures of our current Lost and Found. If something looks like your student’s, please feel free to come to the front vestibule after April break to retrieve it. Thanks!

MCS FIELD DAY
Tuesday, June 10, 2025
Greetings Parents and Families,
Warmer days are just ahead! We’re looking forward to moving PE classes out onto our fields for some fun in the sun.
Springtime is a special time of celebration at MCS. One such tradition is our MCS Field Day, which will take place on Tuesday, June 10th. Our school community plans to spend the day on the green, enjoying each other's company while participating in a variety of movement-based activities. It’s a great day to be at MCS!
FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
This day would not be possible without the support of our parent community. Please consider lending a helping hand if you have the time. We have various tasks that could use some attention. From food prep, to equipment organizers, to activity supervisors, we got something for you!
Thank You!
