Announcing a couple of events for you to participate in and some music videos too!
brought to you by Norwich Women's Club, The Parish players, and Chad Finer
Good morning Norwich, or should I say good rainy day to you, Oh well!
Here are a couple of announcements for you to view and a music video or two or three to listen to while you watch the rain come down and think about all the things you could do with just a little sun. Anyway here goes:
A Celebrate Norwich day that will be held on the Green on June 4.
Well, spring has finally arrived, and here, at the Norwich Women’s Club, we are deep into the planning for our Second Annual *Free* Celebrate Norwich! event to be held on the town green on Sunday, June 4th from 4 to 7 pm. Our partner, Ledyard National Bank, has stepped up once again to help make this happen in style.
We will welcome back several bands from the Tuck Rock Dojo, and the Norwich Lion’s Club will be selling hot dogs and hamburgers, so no worries about dinner. For dessert, the Norwich Farm Creamery will be selling a variety of their delicious homemade ice creams. Among other things, we are organizing some fun games for the kids and face painting for the artistically minded. Our Norwich Citizen of the Year will be introduced and honored with the Ledyard National Bank presenting their $500 contribution to a local non-profit of the winner’s choice. And there
will be free punch balloons and slices of watermelon for all!
But in addition to all this fun, we’re counting on YOU to help us raise the money to fund the NWC’s two major endeavors: providing need-based education scholarships to Norwich residents, and funding for community projects proposed by local non-profit organizations. We have put together several ways to help us with, starting with these suggested levels of donation:
$1000 Top of the Green Supporter
$500 Rock and Roll Supporter
$250 Burger & Dog, Please Supporter
$100 Games, Paint and Fun Supporter
$___ Any Amount
Every dollar will be matched by a generous local supporter!
To make this happen go to our event webpage Celebrate Norwich! and follow the instructions there. You will be directed to a BUY TICKETS button for both donations and raffle tickets.
AND - to help us meet our matching goal of $25,000 we’re having a limited raffle of 100 tickets at $50 each for a fabulous electric bike purchased with the generosity of Hanover Adventure Tours. This pass-through Magnum Navigator X bike would be appropriate for anyone between 5’5” and 6’5” tall. Hydraulic brakes and adjustable handlebars make this an excellent ride for a wide range of people with a 55mile driving range. Buy tickets through the same website link.
AND - The Great Cupcake Decorating Contest! Bring to the green by 4:00 a dozen of your most decorative cupcakes to be judged at 5:00. Two winners will be awarded prizes from King Arthur Flour, and then all the cupcakes will be made available for sale. Yum!!
It will be a fun day doing good for so many. Help us to Celebrate Norwich! on June 4th .
There are also 2 one act plays being presented by the Parish Players in Thetford Vermont. Bothe are being directed by Ria Blaas
