Hello Norwich and Upper Valley residents and readers. I thought it might be nice to post this free biking in winter workshop notice on behalf of the folks at Vital Communities and the Norwich energy committee. This was posted also on today’s list serv.

Transportation is typically a big source of carbon emissions for a
household, and biking is one tried-and-true way to get around. But steep
hills and winter weather are obstacles that keep many of us from parking
our cars and getting on our bikes.
The e-bike loan program last August showed how you can conquer Vermont
hills (look for another loan program in 2020!), and a workshop at the
library will show you how to conquer winter.
This free workshop is on Monday,1/13, 6-7:30 pm, at the Norwich Library. An
experienced year-round bike commuter will share how to plan a winter
commute and how to dress, provide info about snow and ice safety, and
explain how to keep your bike clean. This workshop is taught by Vital
Communities and sponsored by Local Motion.
Indoors in the library’s community room; no need to bring your bike. Light
refreshments will be served. Registration appreciated by contacting Bethany
at bethany@vitalcommunities.org
Come find out how you can become a Winter Bike Warrior!
