Bright new street markings and a fresh coat to enhance safety
Residents have complimented this effort by the DPW and the town
The Town of Norwich DPW recently spruced up the street markings with a fresh coat of paint to increase visibility and enhance safety on our streets. Word on the street is that this effort is appreciated by the residents of Norwich.
The company that did the work was L & D Safety Marking Corporation of Barre, VT.
This effort was coordinated by our DPW director Chris Kaufman and his crew team who made sure to have the effected streets blocked off so it could be done properly.
The line striping work that was performed consisted of crosswalks, stop bars, and road information markings on Main St and adjoining streets.
Here are a few photos of the work that was done:
Visibility is improved here
New paint at the crosswalk in front of the Town Hall
Newly painted Handicap markings will help identify handicap parking spaces
As well as newly painted parking space lines
I received many compliments from people at the crosswalk who said they gave me a new crosswalk, and they really liked the increased visibility.
With the Crosswalk signs to remind motorists of the state law at crosswalks
A nice view of the newly painted stop line and stop sign
Crosswalk at the Norwich Inn
New crosswalk paint at Koch and Main Street
Newly painted stop lines
And some clearly marked stop ahead warnings
It just makes it easier to navigate traffic
Parking and no parking lettering is key to increase safety
It just makes things flow better
And gives you a greater picture of the road ahead.
