COVID Rapid Antigen Testing Opportunity
I trust that each of you is having a wonderful vacation and spending quality time with friends and family. I would like to make you aware of an opportunity that opened up today in regard to COVID testing. The Department of Human Resources announced that all Vermont families can sign up to pick up rapid antigen tests that can be administered at home. This is being done to assist with a safe return to school by allowing two negative tests prior to January 3rd.

I have had many inquiries about SAU70 requiring a negative test result for children to return to school. We are following the Vermont guidance and will not be requiring COVID testing in order to return to school. However, I strongly encourage each of you to take advantage of this free opportunity to do at home testing prior to school beginning. As we have seen this school year, working together, making safe choices, and taking advantage of the opportunities that come our way have allowed MCS students to enjoy in-person instruction.
Please note that we will be doing our weekly surveillance testing on Tuesday rather than Thursday of the coming week.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please direct them my way. If I am not able to answer your questions, I will connect you with someone who can. Please enjoy the vacation time spent with your children. I look forward to seeing MCS children bright and early on January 3rd.
Happy New Year!
Shawn
