Norwich Police Cadets 2020- Check out their new video below
Most Norwich residents know her as the Chief of Police, however to these cadets she is much more than that. She is their Mentor, Commander, Instructor, and the go to person for anything they would need to accomplish the goals that are set for them in this wonderful leadership program that helps them understand the role of a police officer, should they want to someday become one, or just learn the principles of leadership that can be applied to whatever career they may choose.
Here is a message from the advisor for the Police Cadet program, Jennifer M. Frank.
Without question, one of the most rewarding opportunities I have had over the last four years is the pleasure and honor to be the Advisor for the Police Cadet program. In January of 2016, I created this program with the hope to be able to instill in our local youth, an understanding of the role and purpose of law enforcement and the true meaning of the phrase "Protect and Serve." As I look over all that we have accomplished together in the last year, I am left speechless, as words cannot express how proud I am of each and every one of these kids and how much they have grown in just one short year. While the number of events, programs, trainings and community service projects were limited this year due to COVID-19 mitigations, we still accomplished a lot. Cadets, thank you for giving me this opportunity. Parents, thank you for entrusting me with your children, and a special thank you to the Norwich Police Department and all of the officers who have supported this program over the years.
