Thanks for being interested in writing a post about my fundraiser run from Norwich to Norwich. I greatly appreciate community support to help raise money for Josh’s House. Feel free to post my message and some pictures from last year
When I turned 45 years old last year, I set and achieved a personal challenge to run 45 miles from Norwich, VT to Norwich University. As a native of Norwich, VT, an alumna of Norwich University and a Veteran, I also combined my goal with helping other Veterans. Through the generosity of family and friends, I raised a substantial amount of money for The Veterans’ Place in Northfield, VT. The Veterans' Place provides a home, meals, assistance, recovery and rehabilitation to Vermont Veterans. This April, I will turn 46 and I plan to add a mile to my Norwich to Norwich route. This time, I will focus my fundraising efforts to help another important Veteran’s organization, Josh’s House.
This center is named in honor of PFC Josh Pallotta, a Vermont National Guard Veteran who lost his battle with PTSD and ended his life. I absolutely agree and support with their mission, “At Josh’s House we believe that one suicide a day is too many, that Post Traumatic Stress isn’t a limiting factor, and that we are all strongest when we come together. We strive to provide valuable help to our Veterans, their families and their community. Josh's House is maintained not only by sponsors and benefit events, but by the wonderful volunteers who help make meals, work at events, and are able to make financial donations.” I feel it’s important to raise money for Josh’s Place, so this organization can continue to help support all Veterans, especially those in need and at risk.
