Good morning Norwich,
Take a look outside and check out the snow all but for a moment or two as it just sopped again here and then make yourself a cup of coffee, or tea and chip away at your puzzle of the week brought to you by Cameron Cross and the Norwich Historical Society. The 1922 Dartmouth Winter Carnival saw the first competition on the newly
constructed jump
overlooking the 13th green of the Hanover Country Club golf course.
The tradition continued until 1985, when the NCAA dropped ski jumping. It
was torn down in 1993.
The competition attracted thousands of spectators, as evidenced by this
photo from 1934.
