Good Afternoon Norwich and Upper Valley readers,
You may have read on the Norwich listserv a posting by Norwich town clerk Lily Trajman regarding a contest for an “I Voted” design to be printed as stickers. These designs were created by the children in grades 2 through 6 at the Marion Cross school under the direction and supervision of school librarian Jillian Van Ells. When I read the list serve post I thought it would be nice to share the creativity with my readers. I was impressed with the effort that was put into this project and I am sure that you will agree. If you walk into the town clerk’s office you will see some of the sticker designs displayed at the front counter. See the winning sticker designs below after the list serv posting which further explains the concept.
Here is the posting with further info followed by the winning design photos. The photos were taken by Lily Trajman.

Late last year I approached Jillian Van Ells, the librarian at Marion Cross,
with the idea of doing an "I Voted" sticker design contest. This came on the
heels of Jillian inviting me to speak about voting in Vermont with the sixth
graders and her spearheading the effort to allow fifth and sixth graders to
observe voting during the November election. Not one to take the easy path,
Jillian supervised the creation of "I Voted" designs in grades 2 through 6,
and then had each grade vote on a different grade's designs. (She explained
that if a grade voted on their own designs, kids voted based on the artist and
not the quality of the design).
So without further ado, here are the winners!

You can look for them as stickers at Tracy Hall on March 4th, and as an added
bonus we'll put all the kids' designs up so you can admire them on voting day!
Doing future voter outreach,
Lily Trajman (she/her)
