Good evening Norwich,
I have reached out to Norwich residents recently asking for them to share their stories about a day in the life of their pets. I am sharing this story about Leo, who has joined the Fisher family and made his debut in Norwich on August 1. Leo has added excitement, a lot of energy and much love to his new family. Read all about it as told by Lesley Fisher.
Hello, I am Leo and it’s nice to meet you.
On August 1st, Norwich welcomed an unlikely new resident: Leonardo "Leo" the Ninja Turtle, cleverly disguised as an overfed black lab puppy. Don't be fooled by his canine camouflage—that turtle power still courses through his veins.
Leo's ideal day kicks off with a jailbreak from his crate, followed by a feast of couch cushions and a Lego building (eating?) session. On particularly good mornings, he makes a guest appearance on Church Street during school drop-off, sneaking a few nibbles from Demo's gloves. Most days unfold more routinely: a hearty breakfast, a turkey chasing escapade across the lawn, and then a nap.
Leo loves to harvest the vegetables or maybe just eat them.. You be the judge on this one
Leo transforms into an enthusiastic gardener during the daytime. His horticultural pursuits include pruning blueberry bushes with puppy precision, unearthing those pesky jumping worms, meticulously weeding around the septic tank cover, distributing compost with tail-wagging fervor, and harvesting carrots.
In his spare time, Leo has made a few discoveries: Crocs make for a surprisingly satisfying treat, a tackle box is not a toy, and the most efficient way to end an intense game of four square is to simply puncture the ball.
Here is Leo waiting patiently for the fish to bite so that he can get in on the action too.
Leo has added so much joy and chaos to our family! We wouldn't have it any other way.
