Vermont District 45 Lions Club Speak Out Contest
Photo and some info is courtesy of the District D45 Vermont Lions web page from a previous held event.
Each year D45 clubs invite high school students (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen) to compete in a 5 to 7 minute public speaking contest. The 2025 theme is on the subject of “Volunteering”. Local clubs host local competition, sending one finalist to the District Statewide Contest to be held this year on Saturday, May 31, at the Fireside Inn in West Lebanon NH.
Students who participate in this program gain valuable experience preparing their presentation, working to a timeline, and confidence. Many young people today have something to say but do not have the tools to speak in public effectively and with confidence. Good communicators make good citizens.
David Lemal has done an excellent job at getting this program off the ground on the local level and with his team of lions from the Norwich Lions club den has made this program a huge success. Thanks to Kyle Koehler who provided the video and all who participated in this annual event.
On April 1, 2025 The Norwich Lions held their Speakout contest at Tracy Hall and you can watch the video here:
And the winner was Riley Naylor who will be attending the Statewide contest as a contestant on Saturday May 31, 2025 at The Fireside Inn in West Lebanon NH.
