Message From The Principal
When it comes to appreciation, the MCS community gets a gold star! As you know, this was staff appreciation week across the country. At MCS there was ample appreciation each and every day this week. It was fun to see kids coming to school with flowers, muffins, cards, and many smiles at the thought of making a staff member’s day!
In my opinion, this week is a win for everyone. Staff members have benefited from knowing just how much they are appreciated. Families showed us their kindness with many thoughtful gestures. Most importantly, students have been given the opportunity to make the adults that are important in their lives have a lovely week. Whenever there is an opportunity to teach children the gifts of appreciation and giving, it is time well spent.
I would like to express my gratitude for the kindness shown to the MCS staff this week. There are so many wonderful aspects of being at the Marion Cross School. This week I was touched by the support, kindness, and joy that came our way. Pie Day, sponsored by our amazing PTO, was the perfect ending to a perfect week. Thank you.
Have a terrific weekend,
Shawn

Happy Friday!
Staff appreciation week was great. Thank you very much to the PTO for providing staff at MCS with pies…I may skip dinner tonight:)
One of the most impactful things about staff appreciation is that it makes those who write cards, poems, bake, or give something simple to someone feel really great. Giving helps make social connections, makes people feel happy, and decreases stress.
I received several cards and notes of appreciation, thank you very much.
Have a great weekend,
Greg Bagnato

6th Grade Parent Meeting: Transition to RMS
The 7th Grade Team at RMS is hosting a transition meeting for 6th grade parents on Monday, June 3rd at 6 PM in the RMS Auditorium (feel free to park in the north parking lot). Our 7th grade teachers and counselors would like to introduce themselves and share some basic information about the start of school and transition resources. There will be an opportunity for Q & A, and parents will have the option to tour RMS following the formal presentation.
The RMS Counseling team will work with the MCS staff to identify a time during the 6th grade visit to RMS in preparation for Poetry Night, for 6th grade students to tour RMS and meet RMS staff. MCS and RMS special education and 504 teams are connecting throughout May and June to provide individualized transition support for students, and any other parents who would like to connect with a member of the RMS Counseling team, are encouraged to email Liz Powers or John LaCrosse.
MAYFEST is Thursday, May 23 at 1:30 pm on the green!
