10. Norwich DPW Contractor Culvert Installations on Beaver Meadow Rd on July 18, 19, and 20, 2023 from 7 am - 5 pm
From: Chris Kaufman <ckaufman@norwich.vt.us>
Date: Wed, 12 Jul 2023 15:09:28 +0000
From Tuesday, July 18 - Thursday, July 20, 2023, starting at 7 am the Norwich Public Works Department will have a contractor installing seven (7) road culverts on Beaver Meadow Road. The culverts are located near Tilden Hill Rd. (approximately 1 mile north of Moore Lane Rd.) and extend norward to approximately ½ mile before Bragg Hill Rd. The work will require a temporary road closure of Beaver Meadow Rd. to traffic from 7 am to approximately 5 pm. A detour package will direct traffic around onto Bragg Hill Rd onto Tucker Hill Rd and back onto Beaver Meadow Rd. For residents living between these locations along Beaver Meadow Rd, accommodations will be provided to allow access.
These dates are accurate currently, but due to weather uncertainties, they are subject to change. An update will be provided a week before the work begins.

14. Additional flooding possible
From: <judith.powell@vermont.gov>
Date: Wed, 12 Jul 2023 11:07:52 -0700
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for most of central and northern Vermont. Additional rainfall is expected Thursday afternoon as a line of strong thunderstorms moves through. Rivers and streams are already running high and any additional rainfall will go straight to run-off in areas that have recently flooded. Additional forecast rainfall amounts for Thursday afternoon are 1 to 1.5 inches, locally up to 2 inches in the heaviest
storms.
Please be prepared for additional/continued road closures and power outages.
5. Ballard trail
From: Jim Faughnan <jimfaughnan74@gmail.com>
Date: Wed, 12 Jul 2023 07:58:31 -0400
Caution! Due to flooding during the damaging rainstorm of July 10, 2023,
the Lower Ballard Trail has been closed at approximately 1/4 mile above its
lower trailhead. For approximately 100 yards the trail was undercut by high
water and has slid into the brook. Notice will be posted when a workaround
for this gap in the trail has been created. In the meantime, for your own
safety, please enjoy an alternate trail.
