Norwich community helping those in need
Several organizations/individuals doing their part this holiday season
Hello Norwich and beyond the Upper Valley
Each year several local organizations also known this year as the Wonders of Norwich and many individuals step up to the plate and do their part to help the less fortunate. The program that they are participating in is called 19 Days of Norwich & Beyond in support of the Haven!
I thought it would be nice to do a story and highlight these so that you can see how they have chosen to help. I will do my best to include all who are helping in this effort. The captions under the photos are mine and meant to be inspiring and fun.
As you click on a particular business and or organization you can read all about them as their websites are included as well. Editors note: I have taken some info, a photo or two and a few links from a recent posting from Laura Gillespie that appeared in the Tuesday December 3 , 2024 edition of the Norwich listserv so as to give you the best and most accurate information.
The Norwich Turkey Trot was a huge success and here is a report on how well it went,
Wow Norwich, you know how to bring holiday spirit! The Norwich Turkey Trot was
a tremendous success on Thanksgiving morning, in spite of (or BECAUSE of?) the
heavy snow. While we didn’t quite break the fundraising record, with runners’
support $12,500 was raised and with the matching funds from The Jack & Dorothy
Byrne Foundation, the 2024 Trot will bring $25,000 to the Haven.
Extraordinary! Did YOU catch a glimpse of Noah Kahan? Do you wish you had been
able to buy a 2024 Trot hat (check the colorway out here
https://uppervalleyhaven.org/wp-content/uploads/hats.pdf) If you would like
to buy a 2024 hat, we have some available at the Haven. Email us at
mailto:development@uppervalleyhaven.org<mailto:development@uppervalleyhaven.org> to
arrange!
And now let us focus on the 19 days of Norwich and Beyond.
