Not quite a day in the life story but a nice story just the same...let's call it a meet and greet.
The Partridge House Bed and Breakfast ...A nice place to stay and the breakfast is great
Good evening Norwich and the Upper Valley
I stopped in to see Ciaran Geraghty and do a story on the Partridge house as I thought it would make for an interesting read. I asked Ciaran to tell me a little something about how he ended up here in Norwich and here is what he had to say:
“I am a graduate of Johnson & Wales University and studied Culinary Arts and Hotel Management. I am originally from New York City
- Rachael is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina. She specialized in biochemistry and is now a pharmacist for Rite Aid. Rachael is originally from Charleston, South Carolina.
- We moved to Norwich in 2011 living on Turnpike Rd before moving to our current home in 2012. We did the renovation in 2013-14 ( done by Tom Porter of GR Porter and sons) and officially opened as The Partridge House in May 2015.
- Our Daughter Cora is a first grader at Marion Cross Elementary. Our younger daughter Alice will start there as a pre-schooler this fall.”
Ciaran Geraghty welcomes me at the front door

Front hall and stairway
This Partridge House is a Federal-style home built in 1820 by the famed architect Joseph Emerson for Milton Partridge. The home was subsequently sold to his cousin Captain Alden Partridge, the founder of the Norwich Military Academy which is now Norwich University located in Northfield, Vermont. The interior is noted in the Norwich Historic Village as one of the finest entrance hallways.
