Prepping the rink and patiently waiting for mother nature.
But soon all will be able to enjoy it
The finished product almost but not nice ice yet
And now all the work to get it done. A volunteer crew came and set up the ring a week or so ago.
Here team work is key as a little helper puts finishing touches to the outside of the rink.
And next the inside liner needs to be thoroughly swept down
The “Hosers,” . . . now I know how they got their name
A quick pose and then it’s back to work (fill it up - regular please)
Must be the second shift has arrived
The next step is up to Mother Nature but soon it will be an ‘ice day’ for all to enjoy and chill out.

The ice rink is now filled and waiting for the cold weather to work its magic. Huge 'Thank You' to Buck C, Eric R, Mike G, Jordan M and Jeff S from the Hosers, Matt Swett and Turbo from the Fire Dept., and our Norwich Water Dept. - we couldn't have a rink without these partners!
You might notice that the rink is smaller this year than last. This is because we are extending the life of our liners by shrinking the rink footprint every other year and cutting off the sections of liner that have become unusable.
And here is a Quick message from Deputy Fire Chief Matt Swett:
The NFD members involved in this event were Matt Swett, Arturo Johnson,Buck Child and Eric Roane. These three are our newest recruits! We are so grateful that they have joined our department. Buck and Eric are also “Hosers.”
