Sheep to Shawl day- Marion Cross 3rd grade students visit the Norwich Historical Society
To gain an understanding of Norwich's agricultural history
Good morning Norwich,
last week I was invited to attend a Sheep to Shawl event that was being held at the Norwich Historical Society. I was asked to take some photos of the event and to share them with the community.
May 24: Sheep-to-Shawl Day for Marion Cross 3rd Grade, 8:30 am
Sheep to Shawl [Visit to NHS]
Students try their hand at shearing, spinning, and weaving to gain an understanding of Norwich’s agricultural history. Students connect agriculture to changing land use and environmental issues, gaining an understanding of the relationship of people to the land.
Here are some photos that were sent to me courtesy of the 3rd grade teacher with my captions as usual.
This is just the beginning
And this is how it’s done by the master barber if you will
I am sure there was some questions asked by this group of 3rd graders
