Summer gardens in and around Norwich- A photo essay
"Uncle Sam" wants your summer garden photos
How is that for beauty and color?
Hello Norwich and the Upper Valley,
In July on one of my posts, I mentioned that I would be doing a story/photo essay on summer scenes and gardens in and around Norwich. I asked if anyone would be interested in sharing their photos with the community so that all could enjoy. I have received several and would like to share them with you in this post.
Uncle Sam wants you to send in garden and flower photos to share with the community ( I found this and just had to take a photo of it ) I am a bit patriotic,
Yes, that is true and easy to do according to these three
This retrofitted and newly painted wagon has some nice flowers and a patriotic theme

Lot’s of nice colors
And a visitor who approves I guess
Windsor Iris
These two iris photos were sent in by Pamela Thompson Smith
Love always grows in Ethan’s garden
The photos below are a showcase of Marty Candon’s beautiful gardens with many varieties of flowers and shrubs and stunning colors and even a bird house or two.
A nice entrance way
With some nice flowers and plants to greet you as you visit
And a nice crisp American flag
Lot’s of time spent in this screened porch with a nice decorative wall
And there is a lot of color here as well
a nice decorative bird house
And these are different shapes and sizes
And then there is the traditional bird house
A nice front view of the house
With attractive window boxes
And nice flowers
A nice tree compliments the corner of the front yard

A few days later some edging stones were placed so I thought it would be nice to take some photos of the finished landscaping project.
Notice the nice stone edging
Giving it the finer detail and enhancing the landscape
This special tree was planted in tribute to her late husband Jack Candon who could be seen many a day in the summer months mowing his front lawn.
And now it is time to check on the Norwich Women’s Club Garden
I would say that things are looking fine here
And then I headed over to Jaci Allens residence at 15 Union Village road as I was informed that there would be some nice neat landscaped gardens to take photos of.
I was not misinformed by any means
I followed this nicely edged lawn and witnessed some beautiful colors along the way
I made my way around the front to take more photos
And I was still very impressed
A nice selection of flowers and shrubs
And a very well manicured lawn as well
Everywhere you look
