Take me out to the ballgame! A photo essay
Norwich Baseball teams head to Fenway for a day of fun
Good afternoon Norwich,
I would imagine that many of you would like to go to a baseball game.. what fun it is. There are the hot dogs, popcorn, snacks and ice cold drinks to keep you in the groove in addition to watching a great game of baseball. I received these photos and a brief description of a recent trip to Fenway from Lucy Rojanski and would like to share them with my readers and the Norwich Community.
Here is a brief description of Norwich Baseball's trip to Fenway last week along with some nice photos.
Heading out to the field to greet the crowds and maybe even watch the game
Do you think they are having fun?
Oh Yeah! must be the Red Sox scored or something
A group photo of the team at large or a very large team ( You be the judge )
Piece is the word here
And all smiles here
Baseball buddies forever
On Sunday, May 26th, some 116 Norwich baseball fanatics took a trip to Fenway Park to watch the Red Sox take on the first place Milwaukee Brewers as part of the Sox's first Youth Sports Day of 2024. The kids got to wear their Norwich uniforms and march in a parade around the field, stopping to marvel at the legendary Green Monster, and pocket a few grains of that Fenway dirt to rub on their bats when they returned home.
The trip served as a fundraiser for the Norwich Baseball Association
https://www.norwichbaseball.org/ which provides baseball programs for the children of Norwich. Our town has a thriving baseball community with opportunities for kids to learn the sport starting with Norwich Rec T-ball in kindergarten, progressing to coach pitch for 1st and 2nd graders, followed by kid pitch with the NBA's 10U and 12U Cal Ripken league teams. This season the NBA has fielded four Cal Ripken teams, two each at the 10U and 12U levels.

If you love baseball and haven't had a chance to see our teams in action, the 10U and 12U season tournaments will be getting underway with a 10U game at Huntley's Girard Field on Thursday, June 6th, at 5:30PM. We'd love to have you come cheer on the home team!
Go Norwich!
