The Marion Cross School service upgrades are progressing nicely
With safety in mind so please stay away from work areas
Go afternoon Norwich and the Upper Valley,
Here is another update on the progress being made at the Marion Cross School this past week or so. In this post, I have included a listserv posting from Shawn Gonyaw, principal of the Marion Cross School sharing with you the progress that is being made and also asking for your patience while this project is being completed and asking that you stay safe and avoid the construction site.

4. Marion Cross School Construction Update

As I am sure you have seen, there is a lot of activity at MCS this summer.
We are extremely fortunate that you supported several important upgrades -
thank you.
At this time we are in the process of changing over the heating system from
fuel oil to propane. This week the propane tank farm went into the
ground. The old furnaces and huge underground oil tank came out. Both of
which were at the end of their usable time. Of great excitement are the
two big green septic treatment tanks that could also double as space
crafts! They will remedy the septic issues that have been a part of MCS
for many years. Finally, on Friday, excavation of the back playground will
begin to prepare the space for playground equipment. These projects will
make our school a more efficient, healthy, and vibrant place for children
to learn.
To help keep everyone safe, I suggest that people avoid our campus for the
next few weeks. There will be even more heavy equipment on the campus and
coming in and out of Girard Way and Church Street. Once the projects are
completed, the MCS campus will be open and excited to have visitors again.
Happy Summer,
Shawn Gonyaw
MCS Principal
Notice the fencing put in place to keep people away from the work zone areas
And here are some additional photos :
The propane tank farm is now in the ground
A finished project and there is new grass seed spread and waiting for mother nature to do the rest.
And here are some photos of the steps taken to get here.
A tree had to be removed to make room for the underground tank farm
And here is the contractor called in to do the job.
With all the right stuff to get the job done
Time to clean it up and get ready for the next phase
Almost there
And now we dig some more to make room for the tank farm
And this crew is ready to make sure it is done with ease
Making some headway I would say
Propane tanks ready to be put in their places

The so-called spacecrafts have now found a permanent home
And on Church street a Vermont’s V-Trans crew is doing some re-lettering on the street.
