This is a short story that will stick with you!
Talk about sticker shock ! this car sure has it!
Good afternoon Norwich and Upper Valley residents and hopefully readers of my blog.
In one of my many visits to Dan and Whit’s to purchase something that I definitely needed, I saw this Subaru Outback pulling in to the parking lot. I stopped and talked with the owner Patty Schultz for a few moments and asked if she would be willing to share the story of how and why she has so many stickers on her vehicle. I also wondered what happens when she runs it through the car wash. Anyway as you can see it holds up pretty well. I asked for her version of how this happened and here is what she had to say:
“My opinions are so awesome that I put them on my car” That has to be the funniest one. This all started in 2004 when I had 1 sticker on my car, Kerry for President. In rural Tennessee, my car was keyed near the sticker. My reaction was a bit extreme but rather than protecting my car and taking off the sticker I just covered the key scratch with stickers.
Do you think this Subaru Outback has sticker shock?
It eventually took on a life of it’s own. When that car was totaled I was most distressed by the loss of the sticker collection. My sister Beth then contacted friends and family asking them to send stickers and before you knew it, I had a great new collection.
Sometimes I find random stickers put on by strangers. Ironically after the reaction to my first sticker, now I meet lots of people when I’m stopped, who find the collection interesting and entertaining.
Thank You Patty for sharing your story with my readers and the community at large.
I hope you enjoyed this short story.
