Good evening Norwich,
I recently walked into Dan and Whit’s and was pleasantly surprised by the changes that I saw happening. I thought it would be nice to share some of these with you. I put together this impromptu photo essay and, I must warn you that I did not have my GPS with me so I may have taken a left when I should have taken a right but it doesn’t matter at Dan and Whit’s as wherever you are you will find something that you need and that will make things right again. I am sharing a small sample of what the store has to offer and know I missed a room or two but please know that it would take someone hours and hours to see it all. If ever you are in the store and need to know where to go just ask a clerk or head on over to the office and someone will be glad to direct you. Editors hint: The office is near the snacks and soda aisles.
Click the link for the on-line store option … https://danandwhits.com/ but you would miss out on all the fun of getting lost in the store.
Be sure to be decked out in style for the eclipse.
My ‘About Norwich’ logo
Same delicious coffee now available from a new coffee station featuring assorted coffees, variety of teas and hot chocolate. Why there is even room to dance (a reference to the dance floor that used to be used upstairs) Don’t worry the old plug on the floor has been removed, actually on the day I visited.
What’s new you say! A new deli display and counter for Dan & Whit’s offering D&W a/k/a Dietz & Watson products.
Featuring chicken, pork and hamburger. Rotisserie chickens are also available. Decisions, decisions . . . what to make for dinner tonight.
No ‘stake’ out required here - plenty of steaks on hand.
Serving with a friendly smile
And don’t forget all the yummy breakfast sandwiches
Check out this neat display
Nature’s finest from the sugar houses of Vermont.
A walk down the aisle to the cheese, ice cream, and then the soda lane
Or should I say soda capitol of the world - all types on hand
A movie night and snack food treasure trove
Follow the yellow paint room sign but be forewarned there is a whole lot more than just paint in the rooms that you will see in the below photos.
Turn right for screws, nuts, and bolts and if you head to the door and take a right you will be near the office just in case you don’t find what you need.
Here are a few hints as to what you will find where?
And a left will take you to various rooms of wonder
The world of wonder is ok but wandering is not ( this area is for employees only).
And some rooms have a white out board hanging from the ceiling to help you find what you are looking for. Here is Aisle 1
Followed by Aisle 2
And in between Aisle 2 and Aisle 3, there is a whole lot of something that you might need. Take a right at the end of the display and please make sure to give a signal and use your blinkers.
And this is Aisle 3 if you go to the right of the stairway and make a right and then a right again you will now be back in aisle 2 heading toward the front of the store.
With an assortment of hats, gloves, and clothing
Fishing and hunting supplies
Anyone need a key made? It can happen here also!
A timely display with another snowstorm in the forecast:
Editors note: I received this notification regarding school closings for tomorrow as I was getting ready to post this story/essay and thought I would share it with you as well.

Good Evening,
Please be advised we will be cancelling school for all of the Districts in SAU 70 including Hanover, Norwich and Dresden. Tomorrow's weather is going to be very challenging and many other Districts have already cancelled which also creates staffing issues for us. Please double check your school's website for any activities that will be rescheduled. The Norwich concert is rescheduled for Friday, April 5th at 6 pm.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during these challenging and crazy weather situations.
Happy Spring! Jamie Teague
