A COVID diversion project to beat the boredom.
He does a wonderful job of building these models and puts a lot into them.
Arthur Sauvigne decided that one way to beat the boredom of the pandemic was to go back to his model building projects. Here is the link to a story about the CSS Alabama that he built in February of 2020 just as the pandemic was becoming a reality.

He has built some nice ships in the past and thought it would be nice to try something different this time around, so he decided to “Go out West”, with a Wells Fargo Stagecoach.
Arthur has included some pertinent info for this story.
Here is one way to beat boredom. My Nov to Jan project is a 1/12th scale Abbot Downing Concord stagecoach....learned a lot about construction, wheelwrights, suspensions before shocks, steering, brakes and harnessing. The wheels have 6 section rims and 12 -14 spokes . It was a challenge to be sure they were round with centered hubs. The coach was similar to constructing a ships hull. I copied an original "old man of the mountains" logo for the front boot sides. These coaches were elaborately decorated even in the Wild West. I used extra fine point scriptos.
The mail bags and strong box were kept under the driver seat. Who wants to ride 'shotgun'?
Keep up the great work and I am looking forward to your next project Arthur.
All set and ready to move the mail.
